The Art of Watchmaking

Every Chronos timepiece is the result of countless hours of dedicated craftsmanship and uncompromising attention to detail.

⚙️

Movement Assembly

Our master watchmakers assemble each movement by hand, meticulously fitting over 200 individual components. Every gear, spring, and jewel is inspected under 40x magnification to ensure flawless operation.

Finishing & Decoration

We employ traditional techniques including Geneva stripes, perlage, and anglage. Each bridge and plate is hand-finished to achieve a mirror-like surface that catches light beautifully.

🔍

Quality Control

Every watch undergoes 21 days of rigorous testing including accuracy checks, water resistance, shock resistance, and magnetic field exposure. Only perfect timepieces earn the Chronos seal.

💎

Gem Setting

Our master gem-setters use techniques passed down through generations to handset diamonds, sapphires, and rubies with microscopic precision, ensuring each stone is perfectly aligned.

🎨

Dial Creation

From grand feu enamel to hand-guilloché patterns, our dials are miniature works of art. Each dial requires 30+ separate operations and can take up to two weeks to complete.

🏆

Case Construction

Cases are machined from solid blocks of precious metal, then hand-polished to achieve our signature combination of brushed and mirror finishes. Water resistance is tested to 150% of rated depth.

A Legacy of Innovation

Six generations of watchmaking excellence, marked by groundbreaking achievements.

1847

The Beginning

Antoine Chronos opens his first workshop in Geneva's Old Town, establishing the foundation of what would become a horological empire. His first creation, a pocket watch with a revolutionary escapement, wins the Geneva Watchmaking Prize.

1902

First Wristwatch

Responding to changing times, Chronos produces its first wristwatch for aviators. The "Aviator's Companion" features an innovative crown protection system and becomes the official timepiece of the Swiss Air Force.

1956

Automatic Revolution

Chronos unveils the Caliber 5000, the world's first automatic movement with a micro-rotor. This groundbreaking innovation allows for a thinner profile while maintaining exceptional winding efficiency and a 72-hour power reserve.

1989

The Complication Era

The launch of "The Grandmaster" marks Chronos' entry into high complications. Featuring a perpetual calendar, minute repeater, and split-seconds chronograph, it establishes the brand as a leader in haute horlogerie.

2015

Silicon Innovation

Chronos introduces silicon components in its escapements, offering anti-magnetic properties and eliminating the need for lubrication. The Chronos Silicon Escapement (CSE) technology sets new standards for accuracy and longevity.

2024

The Future

Today, Chronos continues to push boundaries with the launch of our Quantum Precision series, utilizing atomic clock synchronization technology while maintaining our commitment to traditional hand-finishing and artisanal craftsmanship.
